Empowering Haitian American Veterans
Honoring our service, uniting our community, and building a legacy of pride.

Our Mission
The Haitian American Veterans Association, Inc. (H.A.V.A.) is a nonprofit organization that strives to maintain, improve, and guide veterans' way of life, nationally and internationally, through advocacy and a network of support and referral services.
We guide veterans to the Veterans Administration, social services, and other programs that are in place for them. We assist veterans who face challenges such as homelessness, reentry after combat, nutritional needs, and many other veteran-related issues. In addition, H.A.V.A. develops educational and health workshops in various communities.

Honoring Our History
It is also our mission to promote the military history of Haitian American Veterans. Their contribution to the United States is immeasurable as Haitian soldiers have served in EVERY war in American history. We march in parades, attend festivals, and participate in other community functions representing Haitian American soldiers of the past and present and setting the precedent for future generations of Haitian American soldiers.
See Our ImpactServing in the U.S. Army has been a profound honor. As a Haitian American, I am proud to represent both my heritage and my adopted country. The strength and resilience of Haitian American veterans continue to inspire future generations.
— Sergeant Major Jean-Robert Alexandre
